Session 3 - Are You My Mummy?

The party continued to clear the kobold hall of kobolds. They can expect to recover money and gems and may recover a magical weapon or item reputed to be there because of a strange kobold death cult that has recently been eradicated.

The party explored the winding passageways, dealing with the occasional trap and kobold patrol. (Sorry, I'm writing this up from memory, long after the fact, and I hadn't intended to blog it at the time. I'll be able to do these things in more detail once I get to the "present").

In one large room, deep in the complex, the party came across what appeared to be a dead end. This room had a good-sized pool of water forming on the north side, and the kobolds appeared to be using it as a reservoir of drinking water. Dwårfy decided to dive under the water and see if there was a passageway, and there was. This posed a bit of a problem, as Dwårfy is the only party member who doesn't need a torch to see. He went through to the other side, killed the two kobolds who were there, and then lit a torch for the rest of the party once they followed him.

Continuing on, they eventually entered a large room lit by six large, golden candlesticks and a burning brazier. This had been the only room in the entire lair lit by the kobolds themselves. It appeared to be some kind of temple. There were stairs leading up to a sanctuary and an altar carved directly into the wall. There were nine kobolds surrounding them and one up on the sanctuary wearing fancy-looking robes appears to be prying at something behind the altar.

After a tense but straightforward fight, the party managed to find 75gp (on the altar), five healing potions, dagger +1 (on the mage), a buckler +1 (hanging on the wall), anecklace of Magic Missile (on the mage), a scroll of Sleep (on the mage), 3 scrolls of cure light wounds (on the altar), and amagical mace (1d6 bludgeoning damage, can cast Light 3x per day) behind the altar.

On the way out of the kobold hall, however, the party is met on the road by the mummy. It has been stalking the owner of the sword non-stop since they bolted from combat, but they were able to outrun him and didn't even realize he was following them. A roadside battle ensued, and the mummy was dispatched.
